ECA recently renovated an old factory in Kensington to the LEED Gold standard to serve as the John S. and James L. Knight Green Jobs Training Center. This state of the art facility features classroom and laboratory space, air sealing, insulation and heating labs, and model houses constructed to duplicate the problems of typical homes. The Center is a model of innovative green building practices and includes a state of the art spray foam white roof, solar water heating, recycled materials, and a rainwater harvesting system so that the building embodies the energy efficiency technologies and principles taught here.
