History

Center in the Park (CIP) is a nationally accredited Senior Community Center founded in 1968 whose mission is “to promote positive aging and foster community connections for older adults whose voices are critical instruments in shaping its activities and direction.” CIP has a membership of over 5,000 who are 55+ and serves 1,000 homebound elders a year through various programs and services. CIP offers over 80 different programs and services annually.

Social Services and Housing

Housing Counseling, In Home Support Program, Senior Companions, emergency food cupboard, assistance advocacy, Neighborhood Energy Center, Service Coordination and case management.

Health Promotion and Evidence-Based Programs

Health screenings, health education, Tai Chi, Yoga, Massage Therapy, falls prevention and various support groups.

Life Long Learning and Arts & Humanities

Computer courses, painting, drawing, pottery, quilting, photo/video, bowling, tap, line dancing, guitar, bridge, billiards, men’s gathering and other recreational activities.

Community Connections

Civic engagement opportunities, such as the CIP Senior Environment Corps, literacy tutoring and intergenerational programs.
