Green Jobs Training Growing in the Philadelphia Area -Philadelphia Business Journal

 

The Philadelphia Business Journal featured ECA's Training Center in its article about Green Jobs.
According to the Philadelphia Business journal, Philadelphia has a growing amount of training that is "tied to construction work than developing new technologies — specifically, how to weatherize and retrofit buildings to make them energy efficient."
The Energy Coordinating Agency has addressed this growth by opening a green-jobs training facility last November. ECA has currently put 600 people through its weatherization training program. About 180 of these trainees were looking for jobs. ECA is also training 140 people this year to perform energy audits, under a grant from the National Community Action Foundation.
