WSC 101 - Department of Energy (DOE) Lead Safe Work Practices

Course Length: 2 days

Course Description: This course defines an overview of safety, health, applicable state and local regulations, regarding potential hazards that can arise when weatherization measures may disturb homes built prior to 1978, that may contain lead-based paint and its harmful effects, especially to children. Students perform proper weatherization interior and exterior setup and/or cleanup, designed to contain the spread of lead dust. Competencies taught are set by Department of Energy and required by the PA Department of Labor and Industry and are assessed via written evaluations.
